Mission Statement

We, the United Nations Association (UNA Hawaii) are “Uniting the World with Aloha” to inspire individual action for the greater good and to create an environment of peace through dialogue thereby achieving the goals of the Charter of the United Nations.

UNA-tableThe Oahu-based Chapter of United Nations Association, founded in 1968, is a grassroots membership organization dedicated to support the ideals and vital work of the United Nations. The national UNA-USA organization is working to accomplish its mission through its national network of Chapters, youth engagement, advocacy efforts, education programs, and public events.

Our Chapter is composed of intergenerational individuals who think globally and take action locally.  “Youth empowerment, human rights, sustainable development, intergenerational activities, indigenous peoples rights, gender equality, and peace, are examples of areas where UNA Hawai‘i members engage in related local activities. Each UNA Hawai‘i member brings a unique talent and passion to the Chapter, which is supported, to assist in activities that align with the mission statement.”
